Overview of YEN Projects

Youth Empowerment Nigeria runs the following programs; youths can participate in any of the following;

 

Skill Acquisition Programme

This program is geared towards furthering our obligation of empowering youth to live a value-added life by organizing vocational training such as; cake baking, make-up artist, cocktail and small chops, event decoration, event planning and management, graphics design, web design, bead making, cat fish farming and so on. It is a two weeks intensive training programme with dedicated and seasoned facilitators.

Health awareness

This programme educates youths on the importance of adequate attention to health. It includes seminars on various health topics by medical practitioner, health check-up, and Aids awareness program aimed at creating extensive awareness on Aids and HIV to youth and the society at large

National Youth Conference

Youths gather from nation-wide once a year to share their activities and goals. It features art and science exhibition, workshops, seminars, forums, symposiums, gala night and award for youths.

This conference is a forum to bring together youths to discuss issues of interest.    

Youth Cultural Festival gives youths the opportunity to learn and experience different cultures from around the nation.

 

 Youth and Tourism

This program is dedicated to taking youth on a variety of trips, sightseeing and tour to different tourist attractions. It includes national, regional and international tours.

 

SME Support Services

The following services are available for YEN members  at subsidized rates This is aimed at easing start-up requirement for SME

-          Business logo

-          Letter head

-          Call cards

-          Identity card

-          Receipts, invoice,

-                          -           Web site design

 

SME Loan Scheme

The SME Support Scheme offers youth’s loans with no collateral and grants to intending young business men and women. YEN partners with financial houses, individual, Non-Governmental Organization and SME Agencies in Nigeria to offer loans/grants to prospective participants.

 

The Mister & Miss University Pageant Nigeria

Among the different programmes organized by YEN, Mister and Miss University Pageant Nigeria stands out for its engaging program and atmosphere. The MMU Pageant is an annual event that brings together private and public universities, poly techniques, college’s students from across the national to promote values of morals and integrity through recognizing students whose beauty lies in their character. Setting up this new standard of beauty among youth contributes to a healthier moral environment. The MMU calls delegates from around the nation  to gather and demonstrate their physical beauty, their artistic talent and, most importantly, their quality of character. The MMU Pageant titleholders will become campus role models in Nigeria.
